Important Information for applicants

As part of the Harnessing the Power of Communities programme we are inviting applications from organisations to deliver one off, or a series of one off activities in the week of the Autumn half term, 28th October – 1st November 2024.

All activities must be delivered to residents of the Crag community area of Shipley.

About the Crag community area:
Crag, located in Shipley, Bradford, West Yorkshire, is an area characterised by its vibrant community, but it also faces significant challenges related to health outcomes and poverty.

Historically, Crag has struggled with higher levels of deprivation compared to national averages, with many residents experiencing economic hardship. According to recent statistics, a notable percentage of the population lives in areas classified as being in the most deprived in England, contributing to adverse health outcomes, such as higher rates of chronic illnesses and declining or poor mental health; access to healthcare services can also be limited, exacerbating these challenges.

Despite the barriers that many face in the Crag community area, the residents continue working towards positive change in the face of these socioeconomic challenges.
